BUILDING DESIGN AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT

When it came time to redo a building with a crumbling first floor at the housing co-op where I live, I stepped up to be the General Contractor for the project. I designed our new community center with a large meeting room, radiant heated floors, laundry room, ADA bathroom, office and tool room. I had the plans drafted, hired the trades, met with the city for inspections, coordinated the demolition and construction. I was fortunate to be working with our excellent office manager, to get solid advice from Rainbow Valley Construction, and have talented, professional tradespeople on the job.

On another project at the coop, I coordinated the demolition of the first floor and house raising, facilitated the group design process and hired a Contractor for the construction.

My priorities on the job are safety first, creating a calm, friendly work environment, and making a solid, graceful, long lasting construction.
